California bridal session | Figueroa Mountain | Tampa destination wedding photographer

This bridal photo session was such an amazing experience. It was such an honor getting the opportunity to work with so many talented and genuinely nice people. We first met Jill La Fleur and Camilla Svensson Burns last March at the 2011 WPPI wedding photography convention in Las Vegas. They are so nice and personable. Even if you’ve never met them before, within 5 minutes of meeting them you will feel like they have been lifelong friends. We had been planning this event for several months and were so excited when the time came to finally fly out to California. As a professional Tampa wedding photographer, we have photographed at so many beautiful Florida locations, but it was so nice getting a chance to go to California and photograph at a completely new location. This part of California, just north of Santa Barbara, is gorgeous. Lots of rolling hills, vineyards and very cool little towns. Our favorite little town was Solvang, a town built like a replica village from Denmark. The town features windmills, Danish bakeries, and some great restaurants!

Colombia destination wedding | Vacation images | Tampa wedding photographer

Meant to write about our trip a long time ago, but we have been so busy that we are just now getting around to it! Back in June we photographed a very beautiful destination wedding in Bogota, Colombia. Being that we had been incredibly busy during the first half of the year, we decided that since we were traveling that far, that we would extend our stay and make a mini vacation out of the trip. Colombia is an incredibly beautiful country with many regions that exhibit their own unique climate and terrain characteristics. To the north is Cartagena which is located on the Caribbean. To the west, Colombia has a long coastline on the Pacific Ocean. Colombia also has deserts, jungles, snow covered volcanos, and a coffee growing region that makes some of the best tasting coffee in the world.

For this trip, we stayed in Bogota which is the capital. It is located at 8600 feet above sea level. It is cool in the mornings and evenings, but has very comfortable day time temperatures. We absolutely loved our time in Bogota and visited many great museums. One of our favorite museums was the Botero Museum which housed many of his masterpiece paintings and sculptures. One of our favorite parts of the city was Monserrate, which is located on top of a mountainside overlooking all of Bogota. You reach it by riding a cable car or train to reach the top. From there you can see the entire city and surrounding countryside and mountain region. The views are absolutely AMAZING!! Another “must see” is the old city center and the area surrounding the presidential palace. The architecture is spectacular, which many of the houses dating back to pre-colonial times. You can just imagine life must have been like back in the 1600’s and 1700’s. As experienced Tampa wedding photographers, we are used to photographing many destination weddings. Flying to Colombia to photograph one was an incredible experience. We definitely look forward to getting to photograph many more destination weddings there or anywhere else in the world. We love photography and traveling the world. Destination weddings allow us to combine our two passions, so if you or anyone you know is looking for a wedding photographer and is getting married in another country or exotic location, please make sure to contact us!!
